Hosted by China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), organized by China Highway & Transportation Society (CHTS), and with the support of the Ministry of Transport (MOT), Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and other departments and the concerted efforts of all the co-organizers, the 2017 World Transport Convention (WTC) has achieved a great success.
In order to push forward the innovation and development of the transport industry, and further promote the international exchange and cooperation in this field, especially the transport infrastructure connectivity among the countries along the Belt and Road, WTC 2018 is scheduled to convene at China National Convention Center, Beijing from June 18 to 21, 2018.
With the theme of“Better Transport, Better World”, WTC 2018 is composed of five major parts: opening ceremony & keynote presentations, transport sci-tech expo, technical sessions & workshops , 2018 urban traffic innovative design competition and 2018 college student bridge design competition, and " the Belt and Road " special activities.
It is expected that over 5,000 participants will attend WTC 2018, who are mainly of 6 groups, including invited guests, representatives from transport and related industries, competition finalists and award winners, paper authors and representatives of the news media.
During the convention, the 2018 Transport Sci-Tech Expo covering an area of 30,000 square meters will be organized. The expo will contain two major exhibition areas, namely the infrastructure exhibition area and the travel service exhibition area. Meanwhile, various networking activities will be held.
The academic exchange in WTC 2018, consisting of keynote speeches, thematic forums and specialized sessions & workshops as well as poster ones, will witness about 1,500 presentations from more than 200 exchange units. There will be over 30 thematic workshops focusing on hot issues and cutting-edge technologies in the field of transport, such as the development of long-span bridges , high-speed rail technology, big data, future transport, intelligent transportation, sharing economy and green mobility, etc..
The technical and specialized sessions are calling for papers from the following 8 tracks: highway engineering, structure engineering, rail transit, air transportation, water transportation, transportation planning, traffic engineering and cross-cutting. The authors of high quality papers and related experts and scholars will be invited to make presentations at WTC 2018. Poster sessions will be opened up to showcase those selected papers and facilitate discussion and communication between the authors and attendees on site.
